Manager biography

Ommeed Sathe is Head of Strategy at Lafayette Square a newly established impact investment firm formed in 2020. Prior to joining Lafayette Square, Ommeed was Head of Impact and Responsible Investing at Prudential, where he managed a portfolio of over $1 billion invested across a range of alternative asset classes including private equity, real estate, private credit and structured products. During his tenure, the portfolio grew from $200 million and delivered exemplary financial and social returns.
Previously, Ommeed was Head of Real Estate Development for the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He spearheaded the revitalization of historic commercial corridors, acquired and redeveloped over 5,000 blighted properties and managed an array of public, private and philanthropic resources. Ommeed began his career as a real estate and land use attorney with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York City.
Ommeed has an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Urban Planning from Columbia University; a Masters degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He currently serves on the board of directors for B-Lab and the Community Development Trust.
