The 2021 State of the Nation’s Housing Report from Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies highlights disturbing trends in the U.S. housing marketing that are likely to impact low-income families.

Among these are

  • Rapidly rising home prices
  • Growth in the number of people experiencing unsheltered homelessness
  • The pandemic’s outsize impact on renters and people of color

In early 2021 there were approximately 7 million renter households in arrears. As eviction moratoriums expire, keeping those families safe and helping them maintain economic stability will be a growing issue.
