Manager biography
Brenda Loya is Justice Climate Fund’s Chief Financial and Operating Officer. JCF is a purpose-built nonprofit, providing the capital and technical knowledge necessary for its network of community lenders to successfully finance clean energy projects in low-income and disadvantaged communities across the country.
Previously, Brenda was Chief Operating Officer for BlueHub Capital. Her focus was on increasing collaboration and efficiency to enable growth of BlueHub. Prior to that she was the National Director of Community Development Finance and Commercial Banking at Amalgamated Bank. She oversaw affordable housing and community facilities investments, economic development initiatives and environmental justice projects. She has also worked as a community development practitioner at Nonprofit Finance Fund and Citi Community Capital.
Brenda currently serves on the board of directors of Raza Development Fund as Vice Chair and is also on the board of the Nonprofit Finance Fund. Brenda has an MBA from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
